WHEN JANUARY JOBS REPORT IS RELEASED LATER THIS WEEK. THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH IS REACHING OUT TO BUSINESS OWNERS WHO ARE STILL TRYING TO RECOVER FROM THE PANDEMIC. AS ANGELA ROZIER REPORTS, THOSE WHO QUALIFY COULD BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE GRANTS RANGING. FROM 10 TO $20000. SOME SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS ARE STILL STRUGGLING TO BOUNCE BACK FROM THE PANDEMIC. AND BOYNTON BEACH CITY LEADERS WANT TO KNOW WHO OUT THERE NEEDS HELP. COMMISSIONERS JUST APPROVED $350,000 FOR A NEW SMALL BUSINESS PROGRAM TO HELP THOSE LOW COMPANIES IMPACTED BY COVID 19. JOHN DORGAN IS A CITY’S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER. WHAT’S UNIQUE ABOUT THIS PROGRAM? IT IT TARGETS THOSE THOSE COMPANIES IN THOSE BUSINESSES THAT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY SORT OF PREVIOUS FUNDING, EITHER FROM THE CITY ON THE BOYNTON BEACH CRA, THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, OR PALM BEACH COUNTY. THEY HAD A LARGE, ROBUST PROGRAM. SO WE’RE REALLY TRYING TO TARGET THOSE WHO DIDN’T RECEIVE ANY SORT OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. DURKAN SAYS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE IS REACHING OUT TO THOSE WHO MAY NOT KNOW SUCH A PROGRAM EXIST. HE SAYS THE FUNDS CAN BE USED FOR OPERATIONAL COSTS. UTILITIES RENT AND EVEN BUSINESS PLANNING. SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS INTERESTED SHOULD REACH OUT TO THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH OR LOG ON TO THE CITY’S WEBSITE FOR INFORMATION ABOUT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS. OFFICIALS SAY GRANT MONEY IS DISTRIBUTED ON A TIER SYSTEM. IF YOU HAD A DECREASE IN YOUR GROSS REVENUE OF 25% OR MORE, YOU’RE ELIGIBLE FOR $20,000. IF YOU HAD.
